Each month, we will highlight one of our MakerSpace technicians who work hard to complete company projects, conduct research, and peer mentor other students.
Gianni is currently a sophomore pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science & Software Engineering. He works as a MakerSpace Technician II and has been involved in several significant projects, including the Combat Robotics project and the donut putter project. Gianni has also led the initiative to convert the MakerSpace's old Avid CNC router into a pellet-fed large format 3D printer using a Dyze Design Proton extruder. His goal is to achieve an expected build volume of approximately 1.5m x 1.5m x 1m, while repurposing much of the original electronics. The setup will be connected with Kippler firmware and cameras to facilitate a variety of debugging and remote operation tasks.
